My professional engagements include the Brooklyn Conservatory Chorale, Principal Conductor & Artistic Coordinator for the Grammy® winning National Children's Chorus, Music Director and Organist at the Church of Saint Saviour in Brooklyn, and private vocal instructor with students both locally and online from various locations nationally. For many years I worked to establish and oversee the New York City Chapter of the National Children’s Chorus. During my appointment with the National Children’s Chorus I co-produced and composed orchestral arrangements for the holiday album Illumine, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Illumine reached #3 on the Billboard charts for top Classical Crossover albums. Performance highlights on the East Coast include conducting at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall regularly, and formerly on the West Coast as a tenor with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Los Angeles Opera, including concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
I have a Master of Music degree in Voice from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from Rutgers University, where I was awarded a full scholarship. I have experience conducting collegiate, community, pre-collegiate, and children’s choruses.
As a voice teacher, my philosophy is to nurture each student’s artistic expression and to enhance their ability to perform at their very best through reliable technical skills. As a choral conductor, I believe it is important to have a deep understanding of the vocal art as well as a thorough historical, contextual, and theoretical knowledge of each piece that is rehearsed and performed.
